Here are six reasons why Seefeld is ideal for a winter holiday:
Easily reached from all points of
the compass
Seefeld is only 10 minutes in the car from the German border and can
be reached without having to buy the motorway "vignette". If you are
arriving by train you can enjoy the fact that Seefeld is on the InterCity
train routes. When all the more remote valley area are being affected
by snow chaos and avalanche restrictions, here you can feel safe on
carefully and frequently cleared roads.
Snow sure from December to the end
of March
Seefeld is situated at 1200m. in other words, 400m to
500m higher than comparable resorts such as Kitzbühel.
The way that the plateau descends to the east gives the sun relatively
few points of attack - that means that the snow stays for a long time
in the new year. The modern artificial snow installations on all the
runs provide additional reassurance that you will actually be able
to spend your ski holiday on the snow.
Seefeld is a walking paradise even
in the winter
143 km of perfectly-cleared and gritted walking trails are open in
the winter. You don't necessarily need skis on your feet to enjoy the
wonderful landscape.
Seefeld is THE cross-country skiing
centre in the Alps
Seefeld can boast 262 kilometers of trails of all levels of difficulty.
Clear markings and good maps help you to choose the right one for you:
for example, the Olympia trail to the Wildmoos or the beginners's route
on the Lenerwiese. Especially lovely is the atmosphere on the night
trail. If you are a proud dog owner, take advantage of the new dog
trail in Leutasch.
Alpine skiing without stress
In the last three years Seefeld has developed its downhill ski facilities
with 35 kilometers of trails and the brand new lift facilities on
the ROSSHÜTTE.
Even in high season there are rarely queues - you can spend your day
on the trails and not waiting in line! Sport doesn't just make you tired,
but also hungry and thirstly. Btu you can find self-service restaurants
and traditional mountain huts all over the ski areas. Of interest
to your holiday budget may be the fact that the day ticket in Seefeld
is substantially cheaper than in some other Tyrolean ski areas.
A wide range of activities to suit
everyone
You'll especially treasure the fact that there is plenty to do in Seefeld,
not just a limited choice between piste and disco. Every day you can
try out something new and, of course, there are opportunities to learn
a new skill. You, your partner or family members can wave goodbye at
the beginning of the day to do whatever you choose: skiing, cross-country,
skating, tobogganing or winter walking. And then, when the sun starts
to go down, it's time to meet up once again in a comfortable bar for
the traditional Five O'Clock "Tea".
